an ancient shop along a narrow road in marais, paris. found it after hunting deals at the local a.p.c. (summer sale!). antique gears and obscure tools lured us in...
among the dusty shelves and tiny drawers we found their beautiful, obsolete treasures. nuts, bolts, tubes and brass widgets forged before the advent of the iso standard. the old clerks laughed as we marveled at each piece.
i bought a handful of old plumbing hardware. i keep some on the table in my studio for inspiration, and attached one on my favorite black folio bag.
